The heart of quantum mechanics – Interference of probabilities

Slide 1 von 6

Interference of probabilities

Why can't classical real probabilities and interference behavior be combined in a straightforward manner? How does quantum physics solve this problem?

The photon as a wave – The photon as a particle. The two statements appear to us to be contradictory, especially if we perform experiments involving a large number of photons. The two specifications become blurred there, because many light quanta look, together, like a wave.

The two representations supplement one another, and, pursuing the train of thought further, lead to no contradiction.
